About the project
Sky Perth was tasked with documenting the significant milestone of Thiess‘ first rebuilt fleet of Cat 789 trucks being exported from Batam Island, Indonesia to Perth, Western Australia.
Our team handled the full production cycle, starting from the trucks’ offloading at AMC Australian Marine Complex in Henderson to their journey through to the Hazelmere workshop.
The project required precision in capturing multiple logistical stages, employing both ground and aerial footage. Sky Perth’s post-production work involved seamless video editing, visual effects (VFX), and storytelling to highlight Thiess’ innovative approach to extending the life of their trucks by up to 60,000 hours.
This project not only showcased the technical challenges involved in heavy equipment transport but also aligned with Thiess’ commitment to sustainability and circular economy principles.
